Padres’ Profar suffered concussion, cervical strain in collision


San Diego Padres left fielder Jurickson Profar is out of the hospital and resting after a collision with a teammate resulted in a concussion and a cervical pressure, the team announced Friday.

Profar, 29, was injured when he and Padres shortstop C.J. Abrams collided in shallow left subject within the fifth inning of a recreation Thursday night time. Whereas Abrams was capable of make the catch, his knee hit Profar within the head/neck space.

After being attended to by trainers, Profar stood and started strolling off the sector earlier than he collapsed to the bottom. He was then loaded on to a stretcher and carted off the sector. The Padres later introduced that he was transported to an area hospital.
